History


For over 17 years, Jim’s Travel Link has been providing customers around the globe with affordable vacation packages and corporate travel services. Founded with the goal of providing superior and highly personalized customer service, the folks here take pride in making sure people get the most out of their vacations and that travel is as easy and stress free as possible. Over the years, this company has owed its longevity to the vision and dedication of the two friends that founded it: Jim and Darlene.

The story of Jim’s Travel Link actually begins in Singapore, where Jim and Darlene, both 11 years old, met and quickly kindled a close friendship. Whereas Darlene worked for years in the banking industry, Jim had always been in the travel business; in fact, he started a precursor of sorts, Travel Link, in 1984, but found that growth was limited due to the corporate climate at the time.

Years later, seeing that their skill-sets complemented one another and wanting to realize a mutual vision, Jim and Darlene founded Jim’s Travel Link in 1997. It was not long before the company gained approval from the Airline Reporting Corporation and the International Association of Travel Agents Network (IATAN). In the middle of the same year, Jim’s became a franchise of one of the world’s largest travel consortiums, Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

Despite many changes within the industry, Jim’s Travel Link has retained a dedicated team of experienced agents who truly believe in Jim’s vision of unparalleled customer service. While the atmosphere there is family-like and may seem casual, Jim’s is a crack team of travel professionals unlike any other in Texas.
